Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin continued his rich vein of form this season with a sixth-place finish at last week’s KLM Open on the DP World Tour.
McKibbin’s latest feat at The International in Amsterdam is his fifth top 10 since February. The 21-year-old moved up five places and inside the top-20 for the first time in the Race to Dubai standings and is currently within touching distance of the 10 PGA Tour cards available at the end of the season.
He raced into solo sixth in The Netherlands with a final round 65 that contained seven birdies and just one dropped shot at the ninth. At nine-under, the Galgorm Touring Professional finished two shots off Guido Migliozzi’s winning total after the Italian came through a three-way play-off with Marcus Kinhult and Joe Dean to record his fourth DP World Tour win.
McKibbin’s latest top 10 comes one week after he made the cut at the US Open at Pinehurst, where he made his Major debut and played the final round alongside world number one Scottie Scheffler.
McKibbin is set to play in this week’s Italian Open on the DP World Tour.
